Wandering, Not Lost Newsletter

A newsletter for those navigating uncertainty, forging unconventional paths, and building their lives and careers on their own terms.

I know what it’s like to outgrow a version of yourself and not yet know who you’re becoming next.

If you’ve ever felt the nudging feeling that you need to change the way your life is going, if you’re suddenly starting to feel an uncertainty about things you used to be sure of, if you get the sense that everyone else got the “how to figure your life out” manual you never received, if you are filled with a growing discontent but you can’t quite place a finger on it, you might be going through a quarter-life crisis and you’re not alone.

Wandering, Not Lost is a weekly letter for those navigating their 20s and 30s with the desire to live a life that actually feels like their own.

I write for people with a longing for more, I hope to give you the courage to keep going even when the path feels unclear.

Sometimes all you need is to hear,

“I get it. I’ve been there. You’re doing better than you think

Welcome, you’re in the right place.

What Are People Saying

A few years ago, I walked away from a fully funded PhD program, a dream opportunity I had spent my whole life building up to. It was supposed to be my big break but instead I felt uninspired and lost. From the outside, it looked like success, and it was success in its own right, just not the kind I wanted.

Ever had people congratulate you for something you know deep down you don’t want?

It was secure and logical to continue on but I was living a life that made sense to everyone but me. I had made every decision in my 20s to get me to that point — go to grad school, get a business degree, get more degrees then get a job in finance— now I was here, closer than ever to that goal and I was as lost as ever.

Sitting in a business class in Getafe Madrid, one undergraduate degree and one post graduate degree already under my belt and beginning a 5 year journey to acquire yet another one, I felt deeply misaligned, unhappy and lost.

For months, I ignored this feeling. I told myself it was just stress, or fear, or a phase that would pass. I told myself to push through. To be grateful. To not disrupt the plan.

But eventually, I realized the cost of staying put was higher than the cost of leaving. So I left.

Not because I had another opportunity lined up or another plan. I left so I could stop betraying myself.

That decision and the season that followed — the unraveling, the wandering, the rebuilding, the pivot — shaped my understanding of the quarter-life crisis. And yes, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
